Information Specialists from Armenia and Belarus participated in expert meeting held by FAO SEUR
Ms. Narine Khurshudyan (Armenian State Agrarian University) and Ms. Marina Khomenko (Belarus Agricultural Library) participated in expert consultation and training on agricultural information - FAO Depository libraries, AGROVOC and AGRIS.
The meeting was held in FAO SEUR, National Agricultural Library, Hungary and ISTIA, Nitra, Slovak Republic. The shared knowledge of Hungarian and Slovakian qualified specialists would help to organize the effective maintenance of FAO Depository Library and establishment of AGRIS Input System in Armenian State Agrarian University.
Mrs. Narine Khurshudyan expressed her opinion about expert consultation and training: "The meeting was very important and useful as I had opportunity to get acquainted with work in FAO Depository Libraries and AGRIS Input Centres in two different countries and compare their workflow. Now I am focused on establishment of AGRIS Input System. It needs permanently contact with colleagues from other AGRIS Input Centres as the problems constantly arise with software, technical support, language peculiarity, data export etc.
It would be very helpful if in the future workshops for sharing and solving the problems in AGRIS Input Systems would be organized, as this kind of meetings are helping to find new solutions, making the specialists closer, and increasing enthusiasm". more...
