Information Management CEE Expert Consultation initiated by the FAO Sub-regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe (SEUR) has been held in Budapest, Hungary, on 10-13 November 2004.
Participants focused on the issues of improving agriculture related information management in Central and Eastern European countries, sharing professional experience of web publishing and distance learning, developing Ag information and educational networks on AgroWeb platform as well as using IMARK module for Veterinary education.
In particular practical steps towards further development of AgroWeb Network including establishment of Russian language platform, as well as strengthening AgroWeb professional community have been discussed. Participants presented activities of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GIFAR) IT/IM, LandNet, Central European Land Knowledge Center (CELK), European Information System on Agricultural Research for Development (EARD InfoSys) and CENTAUR Network in CEE region.
